Hot

We start the day off at the baseball field- we watched 8 innings of Daytona Cubs Baseball. They always have exciting games, coming back from a deficit to take the lead. One side of the stadium was in the shade but PACKED with (loud) kids, the other was empty and in the direct sun. we chose the latter and used our umbrellas, but Summer is definitely here! Benji loved it, dancing to the music, clapping his hands, saying "hit it" to the batters. Gabriel slept most of the time- Edmund noticed how easy it is to sleep sitting up when you have neck rolls to keep your head up! Benjamin was trying to play golf (he has to get 1 hour of practice in every day) with a baseball and a paper bear mask and ended up falling face first into the pavement.  He is all bumps and bruises lately! Then we went home for a nap and painted the inside of the shed. Benjamin ate his weight in macaroni and cheese (who knew kids liked the stuff!) and now it is bath/bed time. Nite!

Busy

We all got up early- Edmund went to work and Benjamin and I started cleaning. I cleaned and put things away, he walked behind me and took things out- I could hear him in the kitchen pulling every pot and lid out of the cabinet.  Then we went to PaPa's house, Dad had made Benjamin homemade Popsicle's out of juice, so major treat there. We went for a drive looking for property for Dad, and of course as soon as Benji fell asleep we turned onto a dirt road that was NOT smooth- so I knew I would be in trouble later when his nap only lasted 25 minutes! Then we went to the store, came home to make soup, went to the ice rink to watch some hockey, went to the pet store to look at bunnies and birds and then hit the park by our house on the way home.  He was eating "oup" by 7:30, and passed out in the highchair by 8:00. No bath, no pajamas. It might be another night terror night- it happens EVERY time we mess with his sleep schedule. Oh yeah, I also worked 5 hours today and took some 4 month pregnancy photos, Benjamin loves when I do this and runs around the table to get in front of the camera in time to do his "cheese" face!!

Dirty

Last Day of our first camping trip as a family of Three. Edmund and I use to go camping almost every weekend. And we haven't gone in a year and a half, not just because you can't spray a newborn with bug spray and sunscreen, but also because it is not the kind of activity that works well with my job. Having no access to phone or computers does not really work, even for a day or two.  So, this trip was actually our third attempt to go, but it was worth it. Benjamin absolutely loved the entire concept of camping. When we were setting up we told him that he would be going "night" in the tent. For the first time ever, Benji was asking every 10 minutes to go "nite" and did it the entire next day too (and he slept like a log) He also loved cooking on a stick, playing in the dirt (see pictures) and playing with his stick in the dirt. This last day we spent the morning at the beach and then headed over to the lighthouse. We bought tickets to climb to the top and then found out you have to be 44 inches tall to climb. You should have seen the little guys face (both of them actually), when we turned around to leave, Edmund and Benji were so excited to climb to the top... Benji cried. Then we went downtown, where we thought a train ride would cheer Benjamin up (trains are his new thing) Every time a train rounded the corner, his face lit up "train, train" then we found out it was $20 a person to ride. We decided to go for it and it was worth it, we got a really nice scenic tour of St Augustine, Benji got his train ride. As we rounded Magnolia street (named one of the top 10 most beautiful streets in America) something rammed Edmund's shoulder, when he looked down he saw one sound asleep (sitting up) little boy.
