Erica asked if this pregnancy was better since I knew what to expect. It is really hard to say and got me thinking. First pregnacy was "Fun" I enjoyed being pregnant and was really happy that everything went so smoothly.I loved getting the nursery ready, buying baby things, looking at baby name books.
This pregnacy has been a little harder on the body, and you want to do all of the things you did for baby number one (read the books, plan the room, fold little onsies, fill out the baby book). But when I thought about Erica's question, I realized that the best part of the second time around has been watching Benjamin get so excited, figuring out what is going on, hearing him talk about his brother. You realize it's not about filling out baby books (HaHa CaCa!) it's about enjoying the little one that you made!
Before I forget, here is what the two pregnancies were like...
Pregnancy Number One
Found out at 4 weeks pregnant
No morning sickness
Told everyone on Christmas morning with "Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie" snowglobes
Started showing at 5 months
Failed first sugar test, passed second one
Lots of kicking -average 20 kicks in 10 minutes (started month 5)
Hiccups everynight (baby)
Ice cream every night (me)
Minor sciatic pain towards the end
Total weight gain: 34
Total waist size: 41
Biggest worry: being a good mom, doing everything right
Due Date: August 20
Born: August 25
Stats: Labor 13 1/2 hours, 7 lbs 12 oz, 21 inches long, 5:36pm
Pregnancy Number Two
Found out at 4 weeks pregnant
No morning sickness
Told everyone at dad's birthday,Benjamin wore a Big Brother shirt, (took over an hour for anyone to see it!)
Started showing at 3-4 months
Failed first sugar test, failed second sugar test. Have to test levels four times a day
Lots of kicking, and lots of stretching out (started 4 months)
Hiccups every night (baby)
Chocolate milk every night (me)
Major sciatic pain towards the end
Total weight gain: we'll see (30 pounds at 37 weeks)
Total waist size: we'll see (41 1/2 at 37 weeks)
Biggest worry: not having another awesome baby like Benjamin
